To purify one’s karma we have to perform the karmkand puja’s by worshipping gods as per prescribed rituals.
Whatever knowledge is contained in Hindu Vedic culture that is in accordance with nature and science.Rituals are not only related to worship, recitation, sacrifices and various types of ceremonies rather, it is directly related to human life, that is the experience of mental peace.
Karmkand process are basically related to the purification of all types of human karma’s,which includes religious rites and rituals. Which is totally related to paurohitya. In paurohitya, the purohit performs rituals and worship in the proper manner. Giving the purohit appropriate dakshina for his work is also a form of purification of karma. These priests are preserving the culture through rituals. We also have to contribute in protecting this culture.

There are two types of rituals –
1) Ishta
2) Purta
1)The rituals based on Yagya, Yagyadi, the unseen and the unusual are called Ishta.
2)Rituals that have visible results for the welfare of the people are called purta.
In this way, purification of all karma beneficial to this world and the next is included in rituals.Ritual or Yagyakarma ritual is one by which the Yajamana gets the desired result in this world and gets sufficient happiness after death. It seems right to get the desired results of rituals in this world, but how is it possible to get sufficient happiness after death? This question definitely arises, what happiness and what sorrow does this creature get after death.
In the Veda scriptures, there is mention of Karma, good and bad results and remedies of various Karmas, rituals through Yagyas for purification of nature, these things are mentioned. It is described in Indian scriptures that the aatma is immortal. Therefore, the accumulated karmas of this life remain attached to that aatma in the next life as well. This means that if we do good or bad deeds in this life, they give us happiness or sorrow after death. Most of the Veda is filled with rituals and worship; the remaining small part is knowledge (gyankand).
*Rituals are for juniors.
*Worship and action are both for the medium.
*Karma, worship and knowledge, all three are for the best.
Purva Mimamsa Shastra presents karmkand. It is named ‘Purva Mimamsa’ because karmkand is the first dharma of man.The right to gyankand comes after that.Since it is related to the rituals performed earlier, it is called Purva Mimamsa. The other side of the philosophical discussion is called Uttar Mimamsa or Vedanta. Among all the events and rituals in the traditions of human welfare, the biggest tradition is that of karmkand and festivals.Rituals are organised through these festivals. In Indian culture, festivals are celebrated on the basis of nature’s rules. Most of the festivals are celebrated by Hindus only.
Hindu sages have described festivals according to seasons.Protection of culture is the soul of these festivals. The method of each puja and the food eaten that day is decided according to the environment and season.Because Hindu sages have made plans to make life interesting and beautiful in the form of festivals.Through these festivals, humans get the opportunity to perform karmkand. The main idea behind this is that people should not get drowned in worldliness or their life should not become dull,in order to avoid getting worried, man should worship the deities in the rituals as per the prescribed rituals, contemplation through chanting of mantras, meditation and self-study and experience peace of mind.Due to festivals, a new kind of joy, enthusiasm and awakening is generated in the people who are suffering from worldly problems. The excitement of celebrating this festival starts building up many days in advance. This mental enthusiasm makes human life happy and pleasant, and makes one experience happiness even in sorrow. This very deep psychological significance is expressed in rituals through festivals.
Ignorance is the main reason behind making fun of rituals.
